This artwork is based on a vintage photograph printed on Hanhmule canvas of three Syrian-Brazilian sisters in the 1940s. The photo was taken in the backyard of their house in a Rural Area called Manduri, in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Those women were my grand-aunts, and as they posed together, looking at the distance in a hopeful and yet empowered way, I chose to embroider the phrase "The World Needs You In Your Fullest Expression" as a reminder to the audience to keep shining their light with this world. There are also painted flowers and pink skies, along with a white crocheted frame.
