Traveling Landscape: Rondout Creek, Hudson River Confluence, 2025Vintage luggage, soil collected from local site, resin, artificial foliage

Traveling Landscape: Rondout Creek, Hudson River Confluence is a sculptural installation from the ongoing Traveling Landscapes series. The work reimagines the Rondout Creek in miniature, tracing its flow from the upper reservoir to its confluence with the Hudson River through hand-sculpted waterscapes housed in recycled vintage cases. Presented stacked with partially open lids, the cases encourage viewers to peer inside and follow the water’s path from one contained landscape to the next. Each section references a specific site and incorporates locally collected soil. The sculpture addresses environmental protection and conservation, while questioning human perceptions of ownership over waterways that function as shared, communal resources.
