Unique Still Life with a View (Mall of My Dreams—Pairs, Trio, and a Unique Being) is part of an ongoing mixed-media series combining gouache, and photo collage (my images and some AI-generated imagery) on gessoed panel. Reimagining the still life tradition, the work foregrounds overlooked, mass-produced objects sourced from 99-cent stores‚Äîartificial fruit, tchotchkes, and consumer ephemera that hover between kitsch and the poetic. These staged interiors are punctured by photographic "picture windows" opening onto New York, New Jersey, or sites abroad, collapsing interior and exterior worlds. Vivid, psychedelic color heightens the tension between reality and artifice, while the inclusion of AI-generated elements further complicates questions of authenticity, reproduction, and aura in a contemporary, consumer-driven landscape.
