something good will bloom (2025) is a series of glass vessels inspired by resilient botanical life that thrive in formerly militarized sites. The creative process involved working with glass artist Erin P. Hoffman to turn Expl’odeur, a VR-sculpted 3D print referencing both the explosive impact of the WWII-era MK2 “pineapple” grenade and the spice trade, into a glass vessel. Lidless and translucent, the former symbol of violence is clarified by light and transmuted into a new vessel for an alternative to emerge. Carrying a message of hope, the work reminds us to rise above challenges and the brighter days ahead.
