Second Thought ,2024
Archival pigment print
40 x 30 inches 1/5
This work Second thought came about as an illustration of the artist's making process. The image evokes that moment when an idea is forming but not settled yet—part intuition, part logic, part impulse.I present collaged objects; a jumbled brain of layered bricks and erasers, a "bright idea" shown as a constructed lightbulb, and a fleeting thought as a soaring paper airplane. These items together evoke an idea mid-transformation. My work is inspired by collage and blends handmade cut-and-paste techniques with digital photograph. Each composition is created by layering printed photographs into physical sets, which are then re-photographed and printed, blurring the line between analog and digital. Influenced by Dada and Surrealism, I create trompe l'oeil illusions featuring fragmented elements of the human body and everyday objects to explore societal norms, communication, and the creative process. Themes of disconnection and transformation emerge through juxtapositions in subtle narratives.
