My fish assume dual roles as objectified body and personified feralness. Put in positions to be consumed, constricted, manipulated, or thrown away, the fish act as proxies for the female body and my experience within it. They reinforce a woman's lack of agency while conveying the feeling of being treated subhuman. Enticing colors and whimsy reflect women's need to lessen our ‚unappealing‚ qualities for the benefit of the male viewer.
