Product Placement: Bounce, 2017

Screen print

22x15 inches

7 of 20

Product Placement: Bounce overlays a Playboy pin-up with a box of Bounce detergent, censoring her nudity as she runs. The name itself hints at bodily innuendo, linking domestic labor to desire. By substituting product for body, the work highlights how women are packaged, marketed, and consumed. As a screen print, the piece emphasizes repetition and flatness, underscoring the interchangeability of both brands and bodies. Through its absurd humor, Bounce turns censorship into critique, parodying the spectacle of consumer culture.
