This mixed media drawing is part of my daily practice that I call my "morning drawings". Each morning when I enter my studio, I start working on small drawings in an 11" x 14" sketchbook. Most of these drawings are based off of images from the daily newspaper. These drawings are a way to keep my hand facile, explore color and different ideas that swirl around my brain. My wood sculptures can take me many months to construct and there is a lot of downtime while waiting for the glue to dry on my wood sculptures so these drawings are an outlet for me to keep my "art endorphins" alive and active daily.
