Pandora's Box (Rebel), 2025

Sculpture, Glass Neon Sculpture Mounted in Transparent Mirrored Plexi Cube, Steel Standoff Mounts, Electrical Transformer.

12in x 12in x 8in

Part of Indira Cesarine's ongoing Pandora's Box series, this red neon sculpture reimagines the Greek myth through the lens of modern resistance. In the myth, Pandora's curiosity releases greed, envy, pain, and death into the world—leaving only hope trapped inside. REBEL burns infinitely within a mirrored cube, reflecting both the necessity and exhaustion of defiance in an age of political and human rights crises. Echoing past works from the series exhibited at The Watermill Center (2019) and Hudson Valley MOCA (2019), the piece transforms rebellion into spectacle‚Äîan urgent, glowing meditation on persistence and hope.
