Orchard Disco Cigarette centers three of my friends, women artists of different ages from across the world, outside of a gay orchard disco in the Hudson Valley. A car headlight illuminates them strangely, framing them in their quiet interlude. Standing in a trio formation, their solidarity is evident despite no visible interaction between them. Their posture is both relaxed and defiant; they are unapologetic. To be a woman without shame is an act of rebellion.
