The work is a "sculptural weaving". It's form and structure is initially created on a table loom, and from there it is mounted and bound to a wood panel. 90% of the work is created using up-cycled textile waste, and the chosen materials are feminine in nature. Beyond visual art I am also a performance artist. The materials, objects and images used in this work are also elements from previous performances. The silk glove once used in a monumental performance from 2019 titled "Unhinged Show Girl," initially performed live at Satellite Art Show. Hanging from its finger is a small framed image. This image is actually a video still from a video performance from 2021. Working in this way allows me to create an archive of what is typically an ephemeral practice, and to re-contextualize the work for a wider audience.
