Liz Groeschen
Fiber Vulva #17, 2025
Fiber Art
12x8
not an edition, but including 3 pieces from series of 100
Liz Groeschen is a multidisciplinary artist examining gender, motherhood, and bodily autonomy through fiber, painting, and printmaking. 100 Fiber Vulvas expands upon The Second First 100 Days, a daily protest begun the day a new presidential administration took office. In response to escalating attacks on reproductive rights, she painted one gouache vulva each day transforming outrage into disciplined, visible resistance. This ongoing series of 100 fiber works shifts the image from paper to object, from private act to public presence. Each vulva is vibrant and distinct, asserting individuality and the right to take up space. Through repetition, the work insists on softness and autonomy in a country hardened by restriction and control.
