Clepsydra, 2022
Acrylic, flashe, beading and sequined fabric on shaped canvas
36 x 32"
I work across painting, sculpture, textiles, and printmaking, exploring abstraction, memory, and transformation. My shaped canvases and layered surfaces navigate what is revealed and what remains hidden, visually, emotionally, and historically. Using dyed and recycled fabrics, sequins, and cut materials, I assemble, stretch, and layer like a ritual, drawing from nature, aposematic organisms, and theatrical spectacle. The artwork Clepsydra is made with Flashe, acrylic paint and sequined fabric on a shaped canvas. Its abstract hourglass form evokes the female body while reflecting on the objecthood of painting and the history of the objectification of the female form. My work fuses surface, light, and texture, creating hybrid, seductive abstractions where material, body, and culture converge.
