BAC À SABLE #2 (Sandbox) explores approaching the world through play as an adult, reconnecting with childhood freedom and curiosity. Embroidered on cream-colored canvas, the piece is inspired by scanned drawings made by my daughter as she learned to draw. Her lines become a map traced in gray sand‚ intersecting, looping roads‚ punctuated by spontaneous, colorful embroidery. Sand invites play while defining its limits; thread introduces control. The artwork balances exploration and structure, imagination and restraint, turning the canvas into a contained playground for discovery.
