About the Event

Pen + Brush is keeping it's doors open late! We are pleased to invite our community to the opportunity to visit the gallery after hours. P+B staff will be available for privately lead tours and questions. This will be a unique Late Nights as we include our ARTTALKs series as well — this an ongoing program at Pen + Brush that aims to breakdown some of the obstacles between the general public and offer direct access to art and artists. As such, these free discussions are informal and encourage dialogue between artists and attendees. Modeled after art world staples like 'artist talks' and 'artist/curator talks', ART TALKS frame the roles of both the artist and curator and endeavor to give an introductory baseline that allows first-time viewers to connect to an artist or exhibition alongside seasoned collectors.

Refreshments will be available.

Current Exhibitions on View-

The Now: Materiality

The Now: Materiality brings together three artists:  Anindita Dutta, Iliana Emilia Garcia, Alida Wilkinson who are working through materials—treating the contents of form, medium, and process as sites of inquiry, voice, story, resistance, and return.  Here, materials are not passive tools but active collaborators in the process of making. The simplicity of clay, the human body, and the readymade chair—each elemental in form and also, deeply familiar—offers a universal language.

In the House 4

In the House 4 is not confined to a single theme. Instead, it embodies a shared concept: each work is on our radar and deemed worthy of consideration. The reasons for featuring each artist are distinct, but they all contribute significantly to the dialogue Pen + Brush aims to foster with the public. The exhibition invites colleagues, visitors, collectors, press, and artists to engage in constructive dialogue and to think out loud together. Featured Artists: Hannah Layden, Alex Romero, Gale Rothstein
